I chose these lyrics and this picture because I took this on a night that holds a lot of memories for me, one of those was sitting on the doc watching the sunset listening to this song play with my best friend. This song has a lot of meaning to me and it perfectly matches how I felt that night, something I'll always remember.

"I have been a witness, and these pictures are my testimony. The events I have recorded should not be forgotten and must not be repeated."
James Natchtwey channels his grief and anger for social and warfare events into powerful captivating images. There's nothing to be romanticized about his photography. It's not "beautiful" or "touching", these are raw and real story's that were not staged or photoshopped. Looking at one of his pictures is looking at a moment captured in time. There's nothing to hide in his work, it's not biased or opinionated, it's the truth.
He is devoted to showing the more privileged side of humanity that war and devastation are still prominent in our world. He wants people to take these images seriously and make their own conclusions based on the impartial context of a photograph. Photography journalizm provides the public with the insider feeling that otherwise couldn't be felt by reading an artical on the subject. Pictorial media is becoming a bigger way to provide news in our society today, thanks to photographers like James Nachtwey.
